Might be because of this "loophole" existing in Windows 10 (the last 2 paragraphs, which actually allow Rainmeter's WiFi to still work on that version): Clicking on the Find Out Why link leads me to this: So, it looks like they found a "middle ground" between enforcing full compliance with the chosen setting, and still allowing known access if needed.I tumbled to it when I installed 24H2 and suddenly found that the "Location" pointer icon started appearing on my taskbar. Digging into why led to the discovery that Windows 11 is being much stricter about 1) Allowing "desktop" apps to access your location, and 2) Displaying that icon to alert you that something is checking your location. Both are reasonable security changes I guess.
